Saul Friedländer became Professor of History at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1988. At present he is emeritus Professor of History at UCLA. In 2019 he addressed the Bundestag on Remembrance Day for the Victims of National Socialism; in 2020 he published a book on Proust.
